Melancholia

I am feeling very behind lately, and 'Melancholia' is one film I am desperate to find the time to see. With Kirsten Dunst, and Richard Wagner's 'Tristan und Isolde' on the soundtrack I don't think I could possibly be disappointed.

I'm also yet to watch 'Drive' and 'Bull Cunningham New York' so I am looking forward to slowing down my social calendar and staying in a little more. Who wouldn't want to stay in with Ryan Gosling anyway? In the words of a friend on facebook "Quite often I stop and think to myself 'Why isn't Ryan Gosling my boyfriend?".

'The Country'

As promised here are some pictures from my first trip to Dimity's home town. Being a city girl I don't know what I was expecting of Wodonga, but it was more like a big melbourne suburb rather than the one general store and sprawling farms that I imagined it would be. The first night we stayed on our friend's block of land by the river, and I even (accidentally) slept in a swag. I enjoyed myself so much that I stayed and lounged by the pool, baked cupcakes, visited the cows at the sale yard (the usual country stuff), while Dimity came back to Melbourne for work. We didn't snap many good pictures sorry, we spent most of the time too drunk, and even more of it make-up free!

Asos App and Leopard hats.

I am unsure if I am a little late on the uptake, but I just discovered that Asos has an iPhone app, and I have a feeling it is going to get me into some trouble, especially since they no longer charge postage. But I am fairly happy with this hat purchase. Reduced to $12.98 how could I possibly go wrong? I never have been a huge fan of animal print, but lately it has grown on me. Counting the days until this little baby arrives. You can purchase it here.

Updates on our trip to 'the country' coming shortly, but let's just say I could easily hang up my city boots and be persuaded to join the country kids forever! Jade x

Fairy & Slimity Go To The Country

Today after work, for the first time ever, Jade will be coming back to Wodonga with me. From the first day we met she has had many questions for me about the 'country.'
'Does your Mum wear overalls and chew on hay?'
'Do you have to drive to your letterbox?'
'Do you have kangaroos in your backyard?'
'Does everyone in the town know everyone?'

We do go pretty wild in Wodonga, so i think she will make a smooth transition into country life. The weekend will consist of lots of infused vodka, multiple jelly shots, sun baking, swimming and jet skiing. Stay tuned for pictures of Jade's first 'Donga' experience!

Beau Coops

The two of us have been big fans of Beau Coops for some time now. They are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes you will ever put your feet into, no matter how high the heel may be. Every new collection sees us desperately sending pictures to eachother of the pairs we want in the hope that we will beat eachother to it. But most of the time we pick the same pair and fight over who should get to have them. We couldn't tell you why we love them so much, perhaps it's the perfect balance of masculinity and feminity, or that they remain a classic staple in our wardrobe that we pull out again and again. Or maybe it's the fact that when you pick up a pair they feel heavy, as though they are made of gold (yes we know we are getting all poetic but this is what they do to us!). Some styles are not for the faint hearted and are sure to have you stopped in the street, but if standing out in the crowd is not your thing then do yourself a favour and make sure you get a pair of the classic boots. We promise you, you will never, EVER go back!

Hatty New Year

One morning we woke up with hat/cap fever. Neither of us knew it, but inspired by Dimity's sister's boyfriend we both messaged him about a certain label he introduced us to, only to find out later that we had both done so. We rushed around looking for these perfect hats to polish off our New Year's outfits, and very luckily seemed to snap up the last two in Melbourne. The label is called The Quiet Life and it is the 5 panels on these hats that apparently makes them unique - and makes me gush about a style of hat I would never have thought I would fall for! Just quietly they really help you 'get your boy on' too.

Photos from New Years to come shortly!
